I travel a lot for my work and so regularly end up having my dinner all alone in restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in CHAMPAIGN IL where I ate at Rainbow Garden and I saw a new article about bamboo. I had no idea you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a good option for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and bought a few pieces of clothing.

I must admit I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a little more research I discovered some more interesting pieces of information about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
