I move around a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I often take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in CHAGRIN FALLS OH where I ate at Gamekeepers Taverne-Fairlawn and I saw a new piece on bamboo. I had no idea you can make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a excellent choice for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and purchased a few basic items of clothing.
I must admit I was pretty impressed. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After some more research I discovered some more interesting details about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
