I move around a lot for my job and so often end up having my dinner all alone in local restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in CARTHAGE IL where I ate at Long Branch Restaurant and I read an interesting piece about bamboo. I did not realise you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a great option for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and bought some basic items of clothing.
I have to admit I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a bit more research I discovered some interesting details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
