I travel a lot for my job and so often end up eating all alone in local restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in CARROLLTON TX where I ate at Coltiers Bar-B-Q and I came across a really interesting cover story on bamboo clothes. I had no idea you can make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a good option for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and got some items of clothing.

I have to admit I was very impressed. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be great. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.

Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After some more research I discovered some more interesting details on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo requires very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
