I travel a lot for my studies and so often end up having my dinner alone in local restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in CARLSBAD NM where I ate at Jerry's Restaurant and I read an interesting piece about bamboo. I did not realise you could make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a good option for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and purchased some pieces of clothing.

I must say I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.

Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

After a little more research I found some other amazing facts about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find more details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
