I move around a lot for my studies and so usually end up having my dinner by myself in cafes. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in CARBONDALE CO where I ate at City Market Food & Pharmacy - Deli and I saw an interesting article about bamboo clothing. I did not know you can make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a good choice for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and got a few items of clothing.

I should say I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be great. I also noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After some more research I found out some amazing pieces of information about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo requires very little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find more articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
