I travel quite a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in CAPE MAY NJ where I ate at The Inn Restaurant and I saw a new piece about bamboo. I had no idea you can make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a excellent choice for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and purchased some pieces of clothing.

I should tell you I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.

After some more research I found out some more interesting details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
