I move around a lot for my job and so usually end up having dinner alone in cafes. I often take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in CAMDEN NJ where I ate at Win Shing Chinese Food Take Out and I saw a really interesting piece on bamboo clothes. I did not know you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a good choice for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.
I should say I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothes stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a bit more research I found out some other incredible pieces of information about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo requires little water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
