I travel quite a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having my dinner alone in cafes. I often take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in CAMBRIDGE MD where I ate at Canvasback Restaurant Equipment & Design Inc and I read a really interesting cover story on bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a good choice for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.

I should tell you I was extremely impressed. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry after I took it from the washing machine which I thought was incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

After a little more research I found some other interesting pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find some details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
