I travel a lot for my work and so often end up having my dinner alone in cafes. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in CALUMET CITY IL where I ate at Jimmy's Pizza Inc and I saw a new cover story to do with bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a great option for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and purchased a couple items of clothing.

I should say I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

After a bit more research I found out some interesting facts on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find some information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
