I travel a lot for my work and so usually end up having my dinner all alone in cafes. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in BUTTE MT where I ate at El Taco and I saw a really interesting article on bamboo clothing. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a excellent option for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and purchased a couple basic items of clothing.
I should admit I was very impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I think is great. I also noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
After some more research I discovered some interesting details to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
