I travel quite a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I usually take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in BUSHNELL IL where I ate at Hardee's of Bushnell and I saw an interesting article about bamboo clothing. I had no idea you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a great possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and purchased a few pieces of clothing.
I must tell you I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a bit more research I found some other amazing facts about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires very little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
