I move around a lot for my work and so usually end up having my dinner by myself in local restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in BROOKLYN NY where I ate at Bayridge Grocery Inc and I saw a new piece about bamboo clothing. I had no idea you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a great choice for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and bought a few basic items of clothing.
I have to admit I was very impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After some more research I found some other interesting details on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
