I travel quite a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating alone in local restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in BROOKLYN NY where I ate at A A West Indian Grocery and I read an interesting cover story on bamboo clothing. I did not realise you can make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a great option for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and purchased a few items of clothing.

I have to say I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.

Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothing stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After a little more research I found some more amazing facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses very little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
