I travel a lot for my studies and so often end up having dinner alone in restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in BROOKLYN NY where I ate at J D Deli & Grocery and I saw a new piece about bamboo clothes. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a excellent possibility for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.
I must admit I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a little more research I discovered some incredible pieces of information about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
