I travel a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having my dinner alone in restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in BROOKLYN NY where I ate at Capripris International Inc and I saw a new article on bamboo clothing. I did not know you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a good choice for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and purchased a couple items of clothing.

I should tell you I was pretty impressed. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry when I took it from the washing machine which I thought was great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.

After a bit more research I found some interesting details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo needs very little water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
