I travel quite a lot for my studies and so often end up having dinner all alone in local restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in BROOKLYN NY where I ate at Broadway's J-2 Nyc Pizza and I read a new cover story about bamboo clothing. I did not know you can make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good possibility for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and purchased a couple pieces of clothing.

I must say I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a bit more research I found some other incredible details about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find some information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
