I move around a lot for my work and so usually end up having dinner all alone in cafes. I often take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in BROOKLYN NY where I ate at BAI Li Chinese Kitchen and I saw an interesting cover story about bamboo. I did not realise you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a great possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and got a few pieces of clothing.
I must say I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a little more research I found some more amazing facts about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
