I travel a lot for my studies and so usually end up having my dinner alone in restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in BROOKLINE MA where I ate at Imperial Cafe and I read a really interesting cover story about bamboo clothing. I had no idea you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a excellent possibility for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and purchased some pieces of clothing.

I have to say I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I think is great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.

After a bit more research I discovered some incredible pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo needs very little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find some information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
