I travel quite a lot for my job and so usually end up having dinner alone in local restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in BRONXVILLE NY where I ate at River Road Mini Market and I came across an interesting article on bamboo clothing. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a great option for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and got some pieces of clothing.

I have to say I was pretty impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a little more research I found out some other amazing facts to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, socks, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find some information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
