I move around a lot for my studies and so often end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in BRONX NY where I ate at Cross Bronx Pizzeria and I read a really interesting article on bamboo. I did not realise you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a great possibility for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and purchased a few items of clothing.

I should say I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.

Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

After a little more research I discovered some other interesting facts about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
