I move around a lot for my work and so regularly end up eating alone in restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in BRISTOL CT where I ate at Superior Pizza & Restaurant and I came across an interesting piece about bamboo clothes. I had no idea you can make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a great possibility for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and got a couple basic items of clothing.
I should tell you I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothes stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a little more research I found some more interesting details about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
