I move around a lot for my work and so usually end up having my dinner alone in local restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in BOSTON MA where I ate at Vox Populi and I read a new cover story to do with bamboo. I had no idea you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a good choice for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and bought a couple items of clothing.
I should tell you I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was incredible. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a bit more research I discovered some more incredible details on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires very little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
