I travel quite a lot for my job and so usually end up eating by myself in restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in BLUFFTON IN where I ate at The Corner Depot and I came across a new cover story on bamboo clothing. I did not know you can make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a great possibility for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and purchased a couple basic items of clothing.

I must tell you I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

After some more research I discovered some more interesting facts on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find some details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
