I move around a lot for my job and so usually end up eating by myself in cafes. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in BIRMINGHAM AL where I ate at MA Reathas Restaurant and I saw an interesting cover story about bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a excellent choice for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and bought a few items of clothing.
I have to admit I was pretty impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I think is great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a bit more research I discovered some amazing details on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo requires very little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
