I travel a lot for my work and so usually end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in BILLINGS MT where I ate at Cattle Company and I saw a really interesting piece about bamboo clothes. I had no idea you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a good possibility for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and purchased a couple basic items of clothing.

I have to say I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I think is great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a little more research I found some more interesting details about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses very little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
