I move around a lot for my work and so usually end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in BIGFORK MT where I ate at LA Provence Restaurant and I read a really interesting cover story to do with bamboo clothes. I did not realise you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a excellent possibility for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and purchased some basic items of clothing.
I have to tell you I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry when I took it from the washing machine which I found to be amazing. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After some more research I found out some other interesting details about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs very little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
