I travel a lot for my job and so often end up having my dinner alone in local restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in BERWYN IL where I ate at Las Fuentes Restaurant and I saw a really interesting article to do with bamboo clothing. I had no idea you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a good possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and bought a few pieces of clothing.
I must admit I was pretty impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After some more research I found out some more amazing details about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
