I travel a lot for my work and so often end up eating all alone in local restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in BELMAR NJ where I ate at Armadillo Crossing and I read a really interesting cover story to do with bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a excellent option for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and bought a couple items of clothing.

I have to tell you I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After some more research I discovered some interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
