I travel quite a lot for my job and so usually end up having my dinner alone in cafes. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in BEL AIR MD where I ate at Deanos Pizza Inc and I read an interesting cover story about bamboo clothing. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a excellent choice for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and purchased some pieces of clothing.
I must say I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I think is great. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After some more research I found out some amazing details about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs very little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
