I move around a lot for my studies and so usually end up having dinner alone in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in BEAVER DAM WI where I ate at Boy Blue Dairy Treat Store and I read an interesting cover story on bamboo clothing. I had no idea you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a excellent possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and got a couple items of clothing.
I should say I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I think is amazing. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After some more research I discovered some interesting pieces of information about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
