I travel a lot for my work and so usually end up eating alone in restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in BEAUFORT SC where I ate at Chinatown and I saw an interesting article about bamboo clothes. I had no idea you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a excellent option for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and got some pieces of clothing.
I have to tell you I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it from the washing machine which I think is great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a little more research I found out some more incredible details to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
