I travel a lot for my work and so often end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in BEATTYVILLE KY where I ate at Shell Food Mart 1 and I read a new cover story on bamboo clothing. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good choice for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and got a few items of clothing.
I must admit I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a little more research I found some other incredible details to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo needs very little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
