I travel a lot for my work and so usually end up eating all alone in cafes. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in BEACH HAVEN NJ where I ate at Morrison's Seafood Restaurant and I saw a really interesting piece to do with bamboo clothing. I did not realise you can make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a excellent possibility for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out for myself. I went online and bought a couple pieces of clothing.
I should admit I was extremely impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
After a bit more research I found some more incredible pieces of information about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
