I travel quite a lot for my work and so often end up having dinner all alone in restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in BALTIMORE MD where I ate at Jinmi Delicatessen and I read a really interesting article on bamboo clothing. I did not know you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a great possibility for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and bought some basic items of clothing.
I should admit I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a bit more research I found some amazing facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
