I travel a lot for my work and so often end up having my dinner all alone in local restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in BALTIMORE MD where I ate at Uncle Nick's Deli and I came across a really interesting piece to do with bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a good possibility for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I went online and bought a few basic items of clothing.
I have to say I was pretty impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be amazing. I also noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic apparel stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a bit more research I found some other amazing details on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
