I move around a lot for my studies and so regularly end up eating by myself in restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in BALLWIN MO where I ate at Tokyo Steak House and I came across an interesting article to do with bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good option for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and purchased a few items of clothing.
I have to tell you I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
After a bit more research I discovered some more amazing facts about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
