I travel quite a lot for my job and so regularly end up having my dinner by myself in restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in BALLWIN MO where I ate at Ice & Fuel West and I came across an interesting cover story about bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a good choice for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and purchased a couple items of clothing.
I must say I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I think is amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
After a bit more research I found out some more interesting facts about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires very little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
