I travel quite a lot for my work and so regularly end up eating all alone in cafes. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in AVON CO where I ate at Avon Bakery & Deli and I came across an interesting article about bamboo. I had no idea you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a excellent option for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and got a couple items of clothing.
I should tell you I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be incredible. I also noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a bit more research I found some more amazing pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
