I move around a lot for my job and so regularly end up eating alone in restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in AVON MA where I ate at Lounge Around and I read a new cover story about bamboo clothes. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a great choice for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and bought some pieces of clothing.
I have to tell you I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a little more research I found some interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo requires very little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
