I travel a lot for my work and so regularly end up eating alone in cafes. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in AUBURN AL where I ate at Guthries of Auburn and I came across an interesting piece about bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a good possibility for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and purchased a couple items of clothing.
I have to tell you I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After some more research I discovered some other interesting facts on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
