I travel quite a lot for my work and so often end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in ATLANTA GA where I ate at Deli & Dawgs and I saw a really interesting piece about bamboo. I had no idea you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a great option for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and purchased some items of clothing.
I have to admit I was pretty impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a little more research I found some more amazing details about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo uses little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
