I move around a lot for my work and so regularly end up eating alone in local restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in ATLANTA GA where I ate at Rusty Nail Pub and I came across a new article to do with bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a good choice for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and purchased a couple basic items of clothing.
I must tell you I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. I also noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a bit more research I discovered some interesting facts on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
