I travel a lot for my work and so usually end up having my dinner alone in local restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in ATLANTA GA where I ate at China Moon Restaurant and I came across a new piece on bamboo. I did not know you can make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a good possibility for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and purchased a few basic items of clothing.
I have to say I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I think is great. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a bit more research I discovered some other amazing facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
