I move around a lot for my work and so usually end up eating by myself in cafes. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in ANDERSON IN where I ate at Toast and I read an interesting cover story on bamboo. I did not realise you can make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a good possibility for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and got a couple items of clothing.
I have to say I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a little more research I found some other incredible pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
