I travel quite a lot for my job and so regularly end up having my dinner by myself in local restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in ANCHORAGE AK where I ate at Gwennies Old Alaska Restaurant and I read a really interesting piece on bamboo clothes. I did not know you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a good option for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and purchased some basic items of clothing.
I must say I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was great. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a bit more research I found some more incredible details on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
