I travel a lot for my job and so regularly end up having my dinner by myself in restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in ALTOONA PA where I ate at Grand China Restaurant and I saw an interesting article on bamboo. I did not know you can make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a excellent option for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and purchased a few basic items of clothing.
I should admit I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I think is incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a bit more research I found some interesting facts on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
