I travel quite a lot for my work and so usually end up having my dinner alone in local restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in ALPINE TX where I ate at CDL Fried Chicken and I came across a new cover story on bamboo clothes. I had no idea you can make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a good possibility for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and got some items of clothing.

I must say I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was amazing. I also noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After some more research I found some amazing facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo uses very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find some articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
