I travel a lot for my work and so regularly end up having my dinner alone in local restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in ALPENA MI where I ate at Holiday Inn of Alpena and I saw a new article to do with bamboo clothing. I had no idea you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a excellent choice for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and purchased some pieces of clothing.

I should say I was extremely impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry after I took it from the washing machine which I found to be great. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.

After a little more research I found some interesting facts on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find some articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
