I travel a lot for my work and so often end up eating alone in cafes. I often take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in ALEXANDRIA VA where I ate at New Szechuan Express and I came across a really interesting piece on bamboo clothing. I did not realise you could make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a excellent choice for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and bought a couple items of clothing.

I must tell you I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After some more research I discovered some other amazing pieces of information on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
